Pulse News | July in review
July has certainly been a mixed bag for many in tech sales. Redundancies in big names such as Microsoft, Shopify and Tesla are making headlines, with the ripple effects now starting to affect Australia. In July, Pulse Recruitment saw a significant rise in candidate enquiries resulting from redundancy or from people that feel uncertain about the stability of their current employer.
Some of the companies that grew their sales function aggressively coming out of COVID to gain market share are now having a reset, and (at the moment at least) there is more talent on the market across all levels than we have seen in the past 12 months. Other areas like cybersecurity seem to have been less impacted as demand continues to be extremely strong, though.
Right now, it’s a good time for employers to add to their team if they are thinking of hiring as a proactive approach in times like these has historically paid off. The market will inevitably tighten as the flow through from these redundancies kicks in, and people find a more stable home.
