Job Seekers Hub | “I love applying for jobs” – said no one ever.
Let’s face it; applying for jobs is mentally exhausting. It’s boring, it can be defeating, and it’s time consuming.
If you haven’t had any luck lately with the job search, try asking yourself these two questions below.
QUESTION #1: Have I ever applied for two different sales jobs, using the same CV?
If you answered ‘yes’, chances are, that’s the reason you’re not having much luck. You probably feel like your wheels are spinning and you’re not getting anywhere.
Unless you’re applying for a very similar role in the same sales industry, you need to tailor your CV per role you’re applying for. Believe us, we can smell a recycled CV from miles away. It’s all about emphasizing areas of your experience that match what you applying for.
QUESTION #2: If they called me back for this role, would I be really excited?
If you answered ‘no’, then don’t bother applying. Spend the time on an application that you really care about instead.
TIP: It’s better to apply for 5 jobs with a strong and tailored application than to apply for 50 jobs and basically, just throw your CV out there and hope someone catches it.
It’s all about quality over quantity.
