How to Use AI Correctly in Sales

In today’s AI-driven world, many salespeople are using AI the wrong way, relying on it for tasks like:

    ❌ Writing entire sales emails
❌ Creating LinkedIn posts from scratch

The problem? Buyers can’t tell if they’re talking to a robot or a real person anymore. Your unique perspective, not generic, AI-generated content, sets you apart.

But I’m not saying you should ditch AI completely. In fact, sales professionals who don’t leverage AI will be left behind.

So, what’s the right way to use AI? Here are some smart approaches:

    1. Research companies
    2. Find industry statistics and data
    3. Summarise reports
    4. Generate ideas

For example, you could prompt AI with:

🔍 “What’s happened in the last three months at [company name]?”
📊 “Share interesting statistics about [industry or topic].”
📈 “Summarise the 2023 annual report for [company name] in 100 words.”

Use the insights AI provides, but don’t just copy and paste. Add your personal touch to make it relevant and impactful.

When asked, “Will AI replace sales jobs?” My response is always:

“Yes—but only for salespeople acting like robots.”
