Careers Hub | A recruiters observations in sales recruitment
A few observations from a guy in tech and SaaS sales recruitment. AKA, our Senior Consultant, Rich Lees.
1. We’re currently experiencing a market correction with fewer jobs and more candidates on the market. That’s not necessarily a reason to panic, though. Could it just be an overdue correction? The beauty of tech and SaaS-based companies is that they cover every industry on Earth. So during economic changes, some will go down while others will also go up, right?
2. Money isn’t cheap anymore, and the pandemic-related tech boom is over, which has lead to some companies not getting their recent round of venture capital funding. This is probably why you have heard of some companies having redundancies recently. It may not be all doom and gloom, though, as this could just be another market correct, right?
3. It seems like some enterprise-sized companies are putting on hiring freezes until early next year, while SME and Mid-Market companies are still open to hiring. Luckily that’s where recruiters operate, so it’s a good time to connect with a recruitment consultant relevant to your industry.
4. Candidates are still leaving their roles due to feeling a lack of support or the inability of their employers to have more flexible working arrangements.
These are just a few observations from my perspective in the tech and SaaS sales recruitment world right now. I would love to hear if you agree, disagree, or just want to add something from your perspective too.
